My mom is great, the problem is I am a senior in highschool. I have started applying to colleges and have gotten accepted to some but they are really far. She doesn't want me to leave far and is telling me constantly. She won't even talk to me about living arrangements if I do move. And I want to go I got accepted to my dream college 5 hours away. She doesn't want to teach me how to drive because she thinks when I learn I will leave her. Which at times I do because there is to many problems with her husband. Any advice anyone? I really need someone's opinion on whether I should tell her she is holding me back.

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. It sounds like you are in a rough situation with your mom. It sounds like you both want different things and that it’s causing fights between you two. We’re not here to give advice, but there are few options you can try. Talking to your mom may be a good place to start. You can try to let her know how you feel. Applying and going to college can be a stressful time for parents and kids. You may want to let her know how much some of these colleges mean to you and try to work out some plans with her. How do you feel about going to a college closer to home?
