  • Can you help?

I'm a 20 year old guy who is gay. I'm stuck in a situation where I am getting bullied by my dad and my roommates. I have a low income and I want to get out of my current situation of being bullied because my dad and my roommates don't like that I'm gay. I am needing help finding a new place to live in California away from the commotion. I can pay my bills, the only thing I need help with is getting enough money to pay for the deposit for an apartment. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks, Dylan.

    Hi Dylan,

Thanks for reaching out tonight and sharing your story with us. It sounds like you are going through so much with your dad and roommates. You don’t deserve to be bullied and it sounds like you’re working on putting together a plan to get out of that situation. That’s smart. So let’s see how we can help you out.

There might be a couple options for you in order to get some funds to help you move. You can try calling 2-1-1. They are a hotline with local resources that can help people out. They might have some resources near to you that can help you out with emergency finances. Another option is to contact your local Salvation Army or Catholic Charities. They might have rental assistance and other help too.

You can also check out this website: www.hud.gov. If you find your state, then you can look to see if there are other rental assistance help resources. Hud.gov is a good resources, so we hope that they would be able to help you out.
