  • I want to run away

Okay, so I know that we teens may over exaggerate... But I'm 18 so legally I can do what I want. Well I want to run a way. I told my mom I was going to move out and get an apartment and she said over her dead body. She is a very controlling woman I can't have any friends that I like only ones she likes I can't go anywhere unless it's church or family's houses. I'm homeschooled so I'm with her 24/7 and life has become hell. My dad doesn't even want to come home because of it. Everybody knows she's controlling and manipulating.
I hate her. So I have thought this out. I'm going to leave this week and go to my friends house until I can get an apartment. She won't find me cause he lives in Another state. I'm going to drive there of course.. I could be there in 4 hours and I can take a lot of clothes .... I really want to do this..

    I want to run away

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting the National Runaway Safeline.

It sounds like you have a plan to move out and try to become independent.
We understand how frustrating it must feel for you living with someone you feel is very controlling and manipulative. That's pretty tough. Since you are 18 yrs of age you are considered an adult in most states.
Does this plan include telling your father?
It sounds like you have a place to go and the transportation to get there.

NRS is here to listen if you would like to discuss your plan on surviving once you decide to leave.
You are welcome to call 1-800-Runaway (786-2929) or visit www.1800Runaway.org to live chat with NRS.
NRS live chat hours are from 4:30pm until 11:30pm (CST) 7 days a week.

We appreciate you expressing your feelings to NRS and we hope that things work out for you.
    Take Care
