Even though you don’t know why you wrote on our bulletin board, we’re glad you did! It sounds like you’re struggling to find where you belong and your purpose. That’s a really hard state for anyone to be in. Is anything in particular going on that makes you feel this way? Do you have people around you that you feel support you and know you’re feeling this way? You also mentioned you are scared. What in particular are you scared of?

What are some things you do when you feel really down? Do you listen to music? Read? Journal? Take a walk? Talk to friends? Are there things that could change that would make you feel better? If so, are these things that you have influence over?

It’s not that unusual for a person to go through a stage like this. Sometimes your “place” is unclear. You are obviously a strong individual which shows just by taking the initiative to write to us. What are some goals you have for yourself? What are some things you’d really like to be able to do someday? (realistic or not so realistic). Have you thought about writing out a list of these different things? Maybe one list of things you can work towards right now and then another list of things you’d just like to do someday (i.e. visit the Amazon Rain Forest, ride an elephant).

We are here to support you and empower you in anyway we can. We’d be happy to talk to you about how you’re feeling and what’s been going on. We can also talk to you about different options and paths you can take that might help. Our hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY, is always available. Day and night, someone is here. Keep searching for your “place”. You’ll find it eventually. Stay strong.
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
