All of my family (aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents) are strong members of the Mormon church. They are constantly pressuring me to become more involved in there religion, when I already attend church services at least once a day. It haas gotten to the point where I can't choose my own friends because they assume all non-Mormons are bad influences. I do not believe in this church. When I try to tell them how I feel, they yell at me, say that I'll go to hell etc. and demand that I read the scriptures. I cannot live with them and not believe in this church. That is a concept that just doesn't exist in this house. I can't keep wasting my life like this. I can't live in this situation. Please help. Thanks.

re: Mormon family
Hi there,
Well thank you for reaching out, and it sounds like you are having a very hard time. Having trouble with family and religion can be stressful. You said you have tried talking to them, which is great that you are making the effort. There are may be some options that are available for you. So let's see how we can help you out.
If you feel like you must leave, you can check out www.nationalsafeplace.org to see if there is a shelter nearby to you where you might be able to stay and get a break from your family for a few nights. If running isn't something that you feel comfortable with, thinking through who you might be able to reach out to in order to get support can be a good way to get the guidance that you deserve.
If you call in, we would be able to talk more about what's going on and think through ways together to best support you. Because there is no one answer, we can explore options with you more in detail. At National Runaway Safeline, our call center is open 24hr a day and 7 days a week for you to call in. Our phone number is 1(800)RUN-AWAY; that's 1(800)786-2929. If you aren't able to call, you can chat with us through our website (www.1800runaway.org) from 4.30pm-11.30pm Central Time.
Thanks again for talking to us! We look forward to your call or chat.
Best of luck,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
