I have no support from anybody, everyone blames all the problems on me. I don't want to put up with this any more. i was on a brink of a breakdown today but i don't think i can remain in control much longer. i don't know what to do.....

RE: I can't do this anymore

    Hello,

Thank you for writing into the National Runaway Safeline bulletin board, we are always here to help and here to listen to you and your needs. After reading about your situation it sounds like living at home is pretty difficult for you. A it can be a little frustrating when you don’t have a lot of places to reach out to. To better help you; let’s break down this a little more.

You stated in your message that you felt that you are being constantly mistreated and abused and home. Can you tell us a little more about what that actually means for you? You certainly don’t have to be treated that way and if it is something very serious you always have the right to report any abuse to your local police department or child protective service in your state.

It also sounds like you have given a lot of thought in to what you want to do in your situation. You mentioned that you did not want to live there anymore and that you were on the edge of a breakdown today; what kinds of things happen around you that make you feel like way in particular (i.e. triggers)? And kinds of things do you do to help bring you down from those hard times you feel like you are going to lose control?

Thank you again for writing into the NRS bulletin board, we are always here to listen and here to help you with everything we can. You can also call into our 24hour hotline (1.800.RUNAWAY) for a more immediate response, as well as connect to some resources that we might have on hand. Another service that we offer here at the NRS is our chat room which is offered from 4:30pm to 11:30pm/CST (www.1800RUNAWAY.org).

Look forward to talking with you and best of luck.
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.

Well a long time ago I used to be physically abused but that's only stopped because I'm older now and I can use that against anyone. For now the abuse I'm going through is mental through yelling and a lot of verbal abuse. It may not be hitting anymore but it still directly affects me. My breakdowns consist of me sobbing endlessly and and being driven into taking my life. I'm having trouble sleeping because of the endless crying and all this is affecting my academic life since I have no peace of mind. i don't really think I can retain much sanity in my current situation. I don't feel like my home is a safe environment for me since I'm never at peace there which affects every other aspect of my life.
