  • It's to much

My mom and dad just divorced and I live with my dad almost full time. I can't live with my mom she is a real **********. That's an understatement. My dad is a heavy drinker. And his louver is starting to fail him. If he dies I want to run away. But I don't know where to go? What else do I have to do when I run. I have family in California and where in Florida. What do I do?

    Re: It's too much

Thanks for reaching out to us. Sounds like you're going through an intense time. We'll try ansd help out as best as we can.

It sounds like you want to leave home and are trying to explore your options. Leaving home is a serious thing (which it sounds like you know) and can usually make things pretty difficult. Do you think your mom would make a runaway report if you left? Most parents do at least make that report and it can make yor living, working and education situation difficult. You stated that you could go to family. Have you spoke to them about that option?

We'd like to help you explore all of those options and see what's available to you. We don't want you to feel like you don't have rights or options but sometimes it takes a conversation to figure out what might be next. If you can, please call us at 1800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We're anonymous, confidential and available 24/7.

We're here to listen, here to help.

Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
