RE: can i move out at 17
Hello there,
Thanks for reaching out to us during this difficult time. It sounds like you have a lot of pressure on you from your entire family. Just to let you know, you do have the right to feel safe in your own home. We are glad to hear you have a safe place to go, everyone deserves to feel wanted. We are sorry to hear that you are being abused and CPS is not helping. Here at the National Runaway Safeline, we are mandated reporters. This means if you felt comfortable calling us and sharing your information, we could call CPS with you again. If the police showed up where you would be staying, would you be comfortable telling them why you left?
We understand you have a right to be safe and a right to go to school. We would like to talk to you further to help you come up with a plan. Please contact us at 1-800-RUNAWAY(786-2929) or by live chat at www.1800runaway.org from 4:30pm-11:30pm Central Standard Time. We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck.
