  • So Done

I live in a house with my Mom, two sisters, and roommate who is moving out soon. My one sister has some issues and by issues I mean she was diagnosed with mental retardation. She's 14. My Mom also so has some issues as well. My Mom has gone through a lot in her life and to raise me and my sisters all alone is huge thing for her. Me and my Mom used to be best friends and we'd never argue but lately that's all we do. I know you can see it's because I have teen hormones but I will highly doubt it is that. My Mom acts like I am the worst child in the entire world like nothing I can do is good enough for her. If I do my chore its always done the wrong way or something she always finds something wrong with everything I do. On top of that all the constant verbal abuse I get in this house not only from her bur from my sisters as well. I am homeschooled this year and no matter what I do for school my Mom always lets me know how lazy or useless I am. It's getting to the point where I would like to punch my Mom in the face. But on top of all that I just lost the only place I could ever call home, my Grandpa who is like my best friend is leaving me this summer and moving away, school is stressing me out like crazy, my Uncle Donny is in the hospital fighting for his life and my boyfriend and I just broke up. I can't talk to my Mom about this well I can't really talk to her about anything anymore cause everything turn into a argument. I can't take it anymore and I refuse to go to my Dad's house because being there would be much worse. Now, I'm not a perfect child I have some mental illnesses. I suffer from depression, anxiety, I used to cut, and have suicidal thoughts. I finally have gotten to a place where it's not so dark and I don't feel alone and then all of this happens. My Mom always makes it her priority to let me know that she's done with me and how much I make her upset and stress her out. I'm ready to leave this house and never come back.

    RE: So Done

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear you are going through this right now. It sounds like you have so much happening in your family that it can seem overwhelming and frustrating. One thing to consider may be family counseling for you and your mom. Would that be something she would be open to? If not, what else can you try.

You also mentioned you have been thinking suicidal thoughts. The National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK is always there to talk to you as well. You also mentioned that school is stressing you out. Have you thought about talking to a teacher about getting some extra tutoring or seeing the school counselor about what is going on lately?

Here at the National Runaway Safeline, we cannot tell you what you should or should not do. We can however help you explore options and come up with a solid plan for what to do next. Please give us a call at 1-800-RUNAWAY(786-2929) or by live chat at from 4:30pm-11:30pm Central Standard Time. We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck.
