  • 16 and want to run away with my girlfriend

i want to leave my dad.......i lost respect for him .....i dont see him the same, i want to run away but the only reason why i dont is because i want to still be close to my girlfriend. i really do love this girl and no one understands they just look at me and make me feel like a dumb kid....i know i love her. i would go run away at her house but my dad will find me there, and shes willing to run away with me somewhere else but i dont think its possible any one will take in 2 kids....... im really thinking hard about this decision. ive been wanting to for the longest, and i want to finally take action

RE: 16 and want to run away with my girlfriend

    Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to us for help. If you need somebody to talk to right now, give us a call at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) , our 24/7 confidential hotline. It sounds like you are going through a difficult time right now and that you and your girlfriend are thinking about running away. It was really smart of you to contact us before you ran off, because we can help you figure out what you want to do and make a plan. I can tell that you have thought hard about this decision.
Have you thought about where you would go? You are right that it will be difficult to find anyone willing to take in two runaway kids. Did you have any family or friends in mind? If you decide to stay in a youth homeless shelter, they will probably call your legal guardian within 48 hours, and they will not make keeping you and your girlfriend together a priority. Have you thought about how you would survive and who you can call for help if you get in trouble?
If you want help making a plan and figuring out where you will go, you can call us and we will help you figure it out. You can also reach us by live chat at www.1800runaway.org every day between 4:30pm and 11:30pm Central Standard Time. We are here to listen and support you in any way that we can, and all of our services are completely anonymous and confidential. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
    Best of luck,
    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
