    RE: Can i please leave...NOW?!

    Hello there,

Thank you for being brave enough to reach out for help. We are sorry to hear you are being abused. Nobody deserves to be abused or made to feel uncomfortable in their own home. You do have the right to be safe. You also have the right to go to school regardless of your living situation. Here at the National Runaway Safeline we are mandated reporters. This means that if you felt comfortable, you could contact us and give specific information (such as name, date, time of abuse, etc) and we would report this to child protective services or the police for you. Another option would be to tell a trusted teacher or counselor about what is going on at home. They are also mandated reporters.

We want you to know you have the right to be safe. You can call us any time at 1-800-RUNAWAY(786-2929) or by live chat at www.1800runaway.org from 4:30pm-11:30pm Central Standard Time. We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck.
