RE: i wanna run away
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to us tonight. It sounds like you are going through so much at home and are thinking about leaving. Your mom is absolutely wrong to treat you that way. You seem like a thoughtful person who’s trying to figure out the best course for their life. There is nothing wrong with that. We want to make sure that you get the support that you need tonight. So let’s see how we can help you out tonight.
You mentioned that your mom is an alcoholic. That sounds like a very difficult experience. There are a couple resources that might be helpful to you. One of them is called Family Anonymous (www.familiesanonymous.org). You can call them at 1-800-736-9805. They are an organization that talks to family and friends of people who struggle with addictions. Another resource that could be helpful is the Alcohol and Drug Helpline at 1-206-722-3700.
It sounds like school is really important to you. There may be some other things that you may want to think about before you leave. We are here to talk through those things with you at anytime. You can call us 24 hours a day at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We are confidential and anonymous. If you can’t call in, you can chat with us through our website (www.1800runaway.org) from 4.30pm-11.30pm Central Time.
We look forward to your call or chat.
Best of luck to you,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
