i have a very low self esteem because my mother seems to me to be verbally abuse. i think she does this because she is a perfectionist. I am an A+ student but if i make like a B or something on a test she calls me a loser and that im stupid and she isnt joking with me. My mother also has a really bad temper and can get really mad at me sometimes over very petty things like i left the light on in the bathroom by accident. She also calls me really bad words sometimes and i hate it when she does that and i usually start to cry which makes her even more mad. I've thought about running away but i have no place to go so it seems useless. I do not know what to do because i have lived with this for about 8 years already....please help

We do empathize with you about your situation at home. Do you feel that you are able to talk to your mom about how name calling and swear has been hurtful? Have talked to her before about how you have been feeling? If so, how did it go for you? Have you talked to anyone else about your situation at home (friend, teacher, relative or a counselor)? Or considered having someone talk to your mom for you? If you were to run away do you think your mom would file a runaway report with the police? Have you run away before?
