Thank you for reaching out to us and telling us about what’s going on. It sounds like you are in a difficult situation right now and we’re glad that you have reached out to us. Sometimes, telling people about what you’re going through can be a very scary thing and it was very brave of you to tell us.

It sounds like you and your boyfriend are trying to find a safe place to go because he is being abused but CPS isn’t helping him. We are sorry to hear that because everyone deserves to feel safe when they are at home. Have either of you talked with another trusted adult about what’s going on? They may also be able to provide you with some assistance and help for your boyfriend to stay safe.

You also said that you are currently pregnant and would like to stay in a shelter with him. Can you tell us more about the relationship with your family? If you have a good relationship with them and you feel safe, they may also be able to help you out.

Here at the National Runaway Safeline, we are a confidential and anonymous hotline for youth in crisis. You can reach us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we can try to help you find shelters. We can also help you make calls to those agencies to see if they have beds available and if they would be able to let you stay. You can reach us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929); we also have online chat services that are available from 4:30 PM-11:30 PM (CST) if you would rather talk with us that way. Our chat can be found on our website (www.1800runaway.org).

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck!
