Ever since I've moved with my mom when I was 9 we've never had a good relationship. Like it could be going good for a while but then it messes up again. I've be abused. I've been beaten. But that doesn't weaken me. I've always had a hard life living with her. She can hear everyone out but me, her own blood. I'm 16 now. I'm a female that lives in New York. I'm just so tired of this. I'm not the perfect child I understand this but I don't deserve this. I have up my childhood. When I was 9 I was forced to learn how to cook, do laundry, and do food shopping for a household of 6. My life is terrible. Sometimes I even consider suicide. I was in the mental ward when I was 13 for attempting to end it all. I just can't take it anymore. She doesn't do anything for me anymore. I hand wash my clothes. She doesn't buy me nothing I need. I stay home all the time. She takes the shampoo and conditioner, the blower, the flat iron, the combs and brushes. I don't know what to do anymore. I have my grandparents but they live right across from us so what's the point to go there if she's just gonna make me come home? Running away is the only solution to get away from her. I just wanna feel free. I wanna enjoy my life I'm to young for this. I deserve to be happy.

RE: My mom
Hi there,
Thanks for contacting us today. Wow, it really seems like you’ve been going through so much for such a long time. You are so absolutely right that you don’t deserve to be treated that way. We’re sorry that all of this is happening to you and we hope the same happiness for you too. When you’re going through so much, it can be really important to reach out for some support. It was brave of you to contact us to get some help. So let’s see how we can help you out today.
It seems like you’ve gotten some help for feeling suicidal before, which is great! Is there a way for you to get some help again? One resource that might be helpful for you is the National Suicide Hotline. You can reach them at 1-800-273-8255. They talk with a lot of people who are going through the same stuff as you and might be able to offer you some help.
So you mentioned that you have thought about staying at your grandparents. Do you think that your mom would give you permission to stay at their house for a few nights a week? Sometimes making a compromise can be the only way we can get what we need.
Another option that you have is to make an abuse report. The decision to do that is completely up to you and sometimes they can provide some services to you and your mom to make the living situation better for the both of you. If you want to discuss this option or other options that we talked about, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We are here 24/7 and are completely confidential and anonymous.
If calling isn’t your thing, you can chat with us on our website (www.1800runaway.org) from 4.30pm-11.30pm Central Standard Time. We look forward to hearing from you.
You definitely deserve to be happy and we’re here to help you achieve that.
Best of luck to you,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
