  • Please help me!!!!!!

I am a 15 year old guy who lives in India. My mother loves me, but I am always angry with my father. He is a person who always sits at home and does nothing. My mom is tired from her work as a dietician and scolds me a lot after returning home. My mother is a good person when she cools down and we have a good understanding between each other. On the other hand my father, only knows to lecture me and does nothing but sits on a chair in front of the computer and never pays attention towards me. He doesn't even know whether I am outside the house or inside. I am the only child of my parents, but I hardly receive any attention from my father. I hate him a lot. I turned 15 6 months ago and just now i received my own bed! I only have my childhood memories captured in photos till the age of 7 or 8. I am sick of this family. I have never been out of Thane district (Please check a map). I struggle between my friends even now. Everyone has been somewhere, have parents that pay attention towards them, etc. while all I have is nothing..... I am also bullied at school. Folks tease me due to my last name being Dumbre and I have been given at least 14 names since childhood! Some guys also made songs upon my surname. I have survived 3 years being bullied and have gained some respect without using my fists(even though I am considered as the mightiest in my class). But still I have a lot of issues like being framed for other peoples pranks, etc. I have always dreamed about coming to America since the age of 5, and I would be really grateful if you could help me somehow! I can speak fluent English by practicing by watching Hollywood movies. I know I am being selfish, immature and asking a lot from you people, but please try to help me somehow! I want to come to the land of my dreams! I am a good musician and have written many songs. Certainly even my dream of becoming a world famous guitarist can be fulfilled only by coming to America.
I have been told since childhood that I am good for nothing by many teachers and even my parents told that I can never fulfill my dream. So I also want to prove them my worth and want to do something out of my life. Indian parents have a completely different mentality and WILL complain to the police if I run away from home and eventually be found and beaten like cr*p by my parents.

I KNOW I MUST HAVE BORED YOU GUYS BY MY BIG AUTOBIOGRAPHY BUT PLEASE TRY TO HELP ME!!!!!! I BELIEVE IN Y.O.L.O. AND WANT TO DO GREATER THINGS THAN THE ONES I HAVE MISSED.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for reaching out and contacting us. We are glad that you felt comfortable telling us your story and reaching out for help. Here at the National Runaway Switchboard, we are a confidential and anonymous hotline for runaway and homeless youth.

It sounds like you have been going through a lot lately and we are sorry to hear that. It sounds like you have a good relationship with your mom but not with your dad. We are sorry to hear that things aren’t so good with him and that he lectures you a lot. You mentioned that you struggle a lot with your friends; could you please tell us more about that?

We are sorry to hear that you are also being bullied at school but it sounds like you have been able to gain some respect from people. It sounds like you are sometimes framed from classmates for things they have done; have you ever told anyone else about that?

It’s great that you want to try coming to America but unfortunately, that’s not something we can help with. We have a program for youth who have run away from home and are trying to return back to their parents. Do you have any ideas for other ways you may get to America?

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are completely confidential. Our phone number is 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) so please call us anytime.

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck.

    ~NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you replied! I haven't cried in years since others started bullying me.
Yes I struggle with my friends. By that I meant things like being called by ugly names made out from my last name
(which is Dumbre). My friends also make fun of my since I am the only one who doesn't have a cell phone and have never been anywhere. Every time the teachers give examples of psycho people half of the classroom shout out my name. Its okay till a certain limit, but after that I get very angry. I feel like beating them but also fear the consequences which make me chicken out.

No I have never told anyone about the fact that I am being framed for other classmates' pranks other than some of my friends. Sometimes I think of opening up to a friend, but my sad emotions turn into a big joke for them whenever I try.

I have been doing a lot of study on the internet about ways to go to America, but I neither am a educated person nor I am a business man. I do have a relative who is a citizen of America, but hes a relative who hasn't spoken to any member of out family for like 10- 12 years. So it might be tough for me to get entry. Also the fare for a ticket is high. If I run away I might have to work at a shop or somewhere for a year to earn that much!

I know I am still foolishly asking your help to help me come to USA in spite of you telling you can't help, but please help me in figuring a way out of this trouble! I never loose hope and have a strong will to come to USA.

Thank you for getting back to us and giving us more information about what is going on. We are sorry to hear that things are very tough for you and we are glad that you continue to talk with us. It sounds like you are very determined to help yourself and that’s great.

It sounds like your classmates sometimes give you a hard time while in school. Have the teachers ever said anything to them about it? You said that some of your friends are aware that you are getting framed but that you are also considering opening up to some other friends. We are sorry to hear that they often tease you about your feelings. It is very brave of you to try talking to people about what you are experiencing and nobody deserves to be made fun of as a result of it.

It sounds like you are very determined to move to America and succeed here. If you were to leave, what do you think your parents would do or say? You said previously that in India, parents will call the police, is that correct? When that happens, what do the police do or say?

We think it’s great that you have such determination in coming to the United States but unfortunately, that’s not something we can help you with. There is an organization, Child Helpline International that may have some resources located in India. There phone number is +91 22 2388 1098, +91 22 2384 1098 or +91 22 2387 1098. They also have a website, www.childlineindia.org.in that may be able to help you out also.

Again, we are very glad that you have contacted us and hopefully, Child Helpline may be able to help.

We wish you the best of luck and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you that you replied to me again.

No even after teachers scold them they continue to misbehave out of limits.

I think my parents would be heartbroken like other parents and cry a lot..
I have decided on a plan that if I run away I am going to call them every weekend through some passing by strangers cell phone (that solves the problem of being phone tracked) and assure them i am fine staying at some place.

Of course the police will search me, but I don't know what further steps they may take since I never have ran away from home

And thanks for letting me know about Childline, but unfortunately I am not able to find my thing.
