    RE: i dont understand...

Hello, and thanks for reaching out to us.

It sounds like you're saying you want to leave home, in spite of the fact that your mom is very caring, and that you sense others have a much more difficult life than you do.

You also state that you want to know why you feel so strongly about leaving home, when it seems like things are not that bad.

We do not give advice, but you know yourself better than anyone else. If you believe you are in a crisis, or if you feel strongly that you want to leave home, then those feelings may be important. Ultimately it is how you measure what is important that matters most.

If you are thinking about running away, have you thought about where you would go? Some people in your position have considered going to a family member or a friend, an adult they trust, an emergency shelter, or somewhere they know they will be safe. These may or may not be options for you. What do you think?

You always have the option of calling us at 1-800-RUNAWAY (800-786-2929) to continue this discussion if you want. We are here 24 hours a day, every day. You also have the option of talking to us online from 4:30pm to 11:30pm (Central time) every day via our instant messaging program right here at www.1800RUNAWAY.org.

We're really glad you decided to contact us tonight. If you need to talk, we will be available.

in reference to your thoughts of running away....i can't tell you how you feel or why you feel that way but i can tell you how much it hurts the people around you....i know this because my daughter ran away recently and i know how i felt about it...my daughter and i were always close or so i thought until she ran away and i was worried and angry at the same time...i wish she would have come to me before she had decided to run away...Is there any way you can speak to someone about it...whether a parent, friend, teacher, counselor, or the runaway hotline...the world is a dangerous place to be especially when you are in it alone....
