Re: Help
Hi,
Thank you for contacting the National Runaway Switchboard with what is going on. We're so sorry that this has been happening and that you have had to deal with something so difficult. We will do everything we can to help.
You said that your father has been molesting you...have you ever told anyone? You have the right to make an abuse report if you want to because what you are saying he is doing is illegal. If this is something you want we can help you with this, but if it is not we will not force you. We are mandated reporters which means if we get your name & your fathers name we will have to make a report. But if you call us we have no way of knowing any of this information so you don't have to worry if you choose that is not the best option for you.
How have you been coping with this so far? This is no doubt a very difficult position to be in. There is a phone number we can give you if you would like to talk specifically about what you are feeling because of this sexual abuse. It's called RAINN (The Rape Abuse Incest National Network) they are available at 1-800-656-HOPE. They also have a website where you can further research what they do and/or they have a live chat available at www.Rainn.org.
We would like to do anything we can to help you through this. Please contact us 24/7 at 1-800-RUNAWAY which is toll-free so if you need to call from a pay phone you can for free. You can also reach us by chat from 4:30-10p, CST.
Please let us know anything we can do to help you. We are here.
We look forward to talking with you.
Until then good luck,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.

Thank you for contacting us again. It sounds like you are going through a very frustrating and scary situation right now. It looks like in the previous message you were given a few resources that you could also contact as support. Were you able to contact any of those numbers?
It sounds like you are afraid to tell people about what’s going on but does anyone else in your family know? If you were to tell other people, what do you think their reactions would be?
It sounds like you have some coping mechanisms that you use. When you do these things, how do they make you feel? Are there any other things that you do that make you feel better or are there things that you enjoy doing in your free time?
If you would like some resources that are located in your area or would just like to talk to someone, please call us here at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are completely confidential and anonymous. We also have live chat, which is available 7 days a week from 4:30 pm-10 pm; that is also completely confidential and anonymous also.
We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck.
