Welcome to the National Runaway Safeline Forum. Here you can post your questions, thoughts, and concerns about what it's like to be a teenager or a parent. If there's something you've been wondering about, please ask. Chances are good that a lot of other people have been wondering the same thing.
PLEASE NOTE: We are receiving more crisis contacts than usual right now. Our replies to forum posts may be delayed but we will respond to your questions as soon as we are able. Please check back frequently for updates!
Thank you for contacting the National Runaway Switchboard. We are so sorry to hear about your friend running away. It can be scary not knowing where your friend is. She is very lucky to have you as a friend worried enough to contact us for help.
There are more legal things that her parents can do like filing a run away report with the police and calling the National Center for Missing and Expoited Children at 1800-843-5678. As her friend, if you are able to get in contact with her in anyway whether it be over the phone or on facebook, you can let her know to give us a call at any time. We're available 24 hours a day and can help her as best as possible. Take a look at our website at www.1800runaway.org where besides this bulletin, we offer live chat with a crisis worker every day from 4:30-10pm (central time).
We hope this helps. If you have any further questions you can also give us a call at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929).
Best of luck,
NRS
